Covid

During Covid the Committee and the Craft Group, worked hard to keep the Village People Going. We held Zoom meetings with our guest speakers who did all they could to continue to provide their talks remotely, including a Zoom cookery class, Bingo, Gift Bags, Easter Cards and Xmas Cards.

We all enjoyed being able to see and talk to each other but it wasn't the same and boy were we happy when we could open our doors and come running back to our meetings in person - only virtual hugs were allowed but our arms were open wide when we welcomed our ladies back.

Jennifer Parker-Lummis sang her heart out to entertain our members. Not easy on zoom but she did a wonderful job.

Flower Arranging on Zoom

Debbie's Kitchen embraced the changes we needed to make during Covid and did a cooking class in our living rooms

We sent out gift bags with a few essentials in it. Every bag had a quiz of some kind.

Every member got a mug to remember us by whilst we were all holed up inside

The Craft Group made Easter Cards

and Xmas Cards

We even put bingo cards in one delivery and then played bingo at one of our many Zoom meetings.

Prizes for the winners were delivered personally by the committee, with social distancing maintained at all times.

Some of our ladies got onto the knitting and crochet bandwagon and made a Care Bear for someone they knew who was a critical Care Worker

Our first meet up in person whilst still following government guidelines. It was cold but it was so good to see everyone again in the flesh and not on our computer screens.
