The Book Group

The ladies meet at Elson Library on the second Wednesday of the month at 10am.

Here are just a few of the books our book club have read:

October - A Single Thread by  Tracey Chevalier -  A Single Thread by Tracy Chevalier was our recent choice for book group. A really interesting book with a good story throughout. A big hit with the group and another one to recommend!

In October the Book Club had an extra meeting to meet a local author whose book they had read previously

Cast of Hawks by Richard V Frankland

Last week at book group we had the pleasure of meeting local author Richard V Frankland. We had previously read A Cast of Hawks by Richard and he kindly agreed to come to our meeting to chat about it. Such an interesting man , we think he would be a great speaker at a future WI meeting!

In April the ladies read one of Richard Osmans books. This certainly seems to be a firm favourite with a lot of our ladies.

There was another interesting Book Group meeting on Weds this week. The book chosen for April was Richard Osman , The Thursday Murder Club so we had lots to discuss about the plot and characters.  Overall most of us enjoyed it!  A great bunch of ladies to have a chat and cuppa with every month.
